Today, Hospitalist groups like PCCMG are changing the way in which inpatient care is delivered. The Hospitalist model of care delivery offers significant advantages over the traditional model of inpatient care delivery. Primary Critical Care was formed from an existing network of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Emergency physicians in 1995. Primary Critical Care physicians provide services in over 20% of California's acute care facilities.
